Progress Update:

Since August 2025:

  • The Meeting House has continued to host the Monterey Pantry PickUp, the Coffee Club, and the Supper Club.

  • Large audiences attended musical, theatrical, and literary events.

  • The costs of ownership, development, and sustained use of the Meeting House became known and were presented in a public forum.

  • Fundraising goals have been set.

We must have $300,000 to take ownership of the Meeting House, and $800,000 by the end of 2026 to sustain it for the next 5 years.

Attention Monterey! The time is now.  Ensure the future of the Monterey Meeting House with your generous support.

Who we are:

Monterey Meeting House, Inc. is a group of Monterey residents with diverse backgrounds but a shared commitment to seeing the Meeting House live on as a vibrant center of community activity.

Board of Directors: Mark Andrews, Don Barkin, Maggie Barkin, Wayne Burkhart, Sue Epstein (not pictured), Robert Hoogs, Paula McNay (not pictured), Hutch Neilson, Linda Neilson, Kyle Pierce, Morton Salomon, and Roger Tryon.

Our Mission is to

Acquire the Monterey Meeting House and preserve it as a historic landmark and a centerpiece of the Monterey Village.

Promote the community’s continued use of the Meeting House for cultural, educational, theatrical, and charitable activities and as a venue for community gatherings.

Adapt and use the building, with its large open spaces, for new activities that complement or expand programs offered by existing Monterey venues.
